As part of our data strategy were investing into a new data platform with AWS. This platform will enable us to combine data from multiple sources and analyse it in batch or near real time, unlocking the value behind our data.

Role of the Data Engineering Manager is focused on coordinating the work around the platform, being responsible for both development and operational sides. This will be done by managing backlogs of teams involved in building and leveraging the data platform as well as overseeing technical implementations.

We are looking for you to operate in a hybrid way of working with at least two days in the office each week and the rest remotely, our office is located in Warsaw Spire. However, all work must be performed within Poland, and remote work from abroad is not available.

We encourage employees to participate in company events (team meetings, conferences, integration activities, etc) at least once per quarter/half year.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing delivery process – both internal and external – involved backlog grooming, dependency planning, participating in agile ceremonies
  • Responsible for planning work – to user story level by ensuring requirements sufficiency and adherence to design standards
  • Responsible for receiving work by verifying test cases, doing code reviews for merge requests – validating if delivered work matches statements of work deliverables
  • Responsible for leading and contributing to POCs on new technologies
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining engineering processes (feedback loops, design choices, etc)

  • 3+ years of experience in leading project delivery- preferably in big data scope
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with big data technologies
  • A good understanding of DevOps methodology and CI/CD tooling
  • Proficient in at least one programming language – Python, R, Scala, etc
  • Experience in Source control tools like Gitlab / Github
  • Very good command of Polish & English
